LIBERTY Dental Plan Establishes a Dedicated Toll-Free Number for Butte County Thompson Fire Proclamation Issued on July 3, 2024

On July 3, 2024, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation to Butte County for the Thompson Fire that began on July 2, 2024, and has since burned 4,000 acres, prompting evacuation orders for thousands. This fire threatens structures, homes, critical infrastructure, and health, and congregate care facilities. The high temperatures and winds have increased the fire’s spread, causing imminent threat to life, with an Excessive Heat Warning in effect for Butte County. LIBERTY Dental Plan (LIBERTY) serves members in Butte County.

LIBERTY has not, as of this date, experienced any disruption to plan operations. Our corporate office and operations center are in Tustin, Calif., and have not been impacted by this Butte County fire. Additionally, we do not anticipate any disruption to our operations and will be available to members, including after hours and on the weekend. We are communicating our availability to potentially impacted enrollees through this press release, our website, and social media.

LIBERTY has taken steps to ensure that our members' oral health care needs are met through a dedicated, toll-free number to our call center, including 24/7 call availability to refer members to a dentist. Contact Member Services toll-free at   877-864-7811.

This policy applies in the event of any state of emergency declared by the governor and health emergencies declared by the State Public Health Officer. LIBERTY will comply with guidance issued by the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) related to the emergency.
